Analog Information

What is Analog Information?

Analog information is a type of data representation that uses a continuous physical signal to transmit sound or video. In the world of telecommunications, analog signals mimic the actual vibration of a human voice by converting it into electrical pulses of varying frequency.

This is the foundational technology for traditional landline systems, often called POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service). Because analog signals are susceptible to interference and cannot be easily compressed, most modern businesses have transitioned to digital information, which converts voice data into binary code for clearer and more efficient transmission.
