What is Find Me / Follow Me?

Find Me / Follow Me is an advanced call routing feature that gives users granular control over how and where they receive their incoming calls. It is designed to ensure that a user can be reached on their preferred device, regardless of their location, by creating a personalized ringing strategy.

While the terms are often used interchangeably, they describe two related concepts:

• Find Me: This refers to the ability to have incoming calls ring on multiple devices simultaneously. For example, when a call comes to your extension, you can have your office desk phone, your desktop softphone, and your mobile app all ring at the same time. You can then answer the call on whichever device is most convenient.
• Follow Me: This describes creating a sequential ringing order. The call "follows" you from one device to the next. For instance, you could configure it to ring your desk phone first for 15 seconds, and if there's no answer, it will then automatically stop ringing there and start ringing your mobile phone.

Practical Application

By combining these capabilities, users can create sophisticated rules to match their specific needs. For example, an employee working from home could configure their settings so that:

• Direct calls from colleagues ring on both their laptop softphone and their mobile app simultaneously.
• Calls coming from a team call queue only ring on their laptop softphone to keep work calls separate.
• Their physical desk phone back in the office is completely excluded from all ringing rules, preventing it from disturbing others.
