Call Flip / Call Pushing

What is Call Flip?

Call Flip, also known as Call Pushing, is a powerful feature in modern VoIP and cloud phone systems that allows you to seamlessly transfer an active call from one of your connected devices to another without any interruption to the conversation.

The primary purpose of Call Flip is to provide ultimate mobility, ensuring you can continue important discussions regardless of your location or situation.

Practical scenarios where Call Flip is invaluable include:

  • Leaving the Office: If you are on an important call at your desk but need to leave, you can instantly "flip" the call from your desk phone or desktop softphone to your mobile app and continue the conversation as you head out the door.
  • Switching Devices: You might start a video call on your laptop but want to move to a conference room phone for better audio. Call Flip allows you to make this transition smoothly.
  • Low Battery: If your mobile phone's battery is running low during a call, you can easily push the call to your desktop application to avoid having it cut off.

How it Works:

While the user experience is typically a single click, the technology behind Call Flip is quite clever. When you initiate a flip, the system places your caller on a momentary hold. It then simultaneously rings all of your other designated devices (such as your mobile app or home office phone). As soon as you answer on the new device, the system reconnects the call, and you can pick up the conversation right where you left off.

Modern VoIP applications have made this process incredibly user-friendly, often featuring a dedicated "Switch Device" or "Flip Call" button that executes the entire transfer in a single action.
